Ash body blank, sized for an ST-style body
Three pieces of ash glued into one blank, cut to the minimum size an ST-style body needs, with the longer piece where the upper horn goes.
Wood: Ash | Pieces: 3, glued | Size: 475 x 345 x 45 mm | For: ST-style bodies
- The same ash as our DIY guitar kits
- Glued and ready to cut: no clamping or jointing
- Stepped shape: no wood wasted where the body has none
- Works with a CNC machine or hand tools
A glued ash body blank cut to the size an ST-style guitar body needs. It is made of three pieces of ash: one longer piece, 475 mm, for the side with the upper horn, and two pieces of 420 mm for the rest of the body, so the blank follows the outline instead of wasting a full rectangle of wood.
It is the same ash we use for the bodies of our DIY guitar kits, already jointed and glued, so you can go straight to drawing or loading your body template.
How It Works
- Draw or load your ST-style body outline: the longer piece takes the upper horn.
- Cut the outline on a CNC machine, a band saw or with a router and template.
- Rout the neck pocket, pickup and control cavities and the tremolo cavity to your plan.
- Sand, finish and assemble with your neck and hardware.

FAQ
Is it big enough for an ST-style body?
Yes. The sizes are the minimum we use for our own ST-style bodies: 475 mm long on the upper horn side, 420 mm elsewhere, 345 mm wide and 45 mm thick.
Are the pieces glued?
Yes. The three pieces of ash come jointed and glued into one blank, ready to cut.
Why is one piece longer?
The upper horn of an ST-style body sticks out further than the rest of the outline. Only that piece is long enough for it, so no wood is wasted where the body has none.
Can I use it for another body shape?
Yes, for any design that fits within 475 x 345 mm on the narrow side and 420 x 345 mm elsewhere. For a TL-style body, our ash body block is a full 430 x 345 mm rectangle.
What tools do I need?
A CNC machine, or a band saw and a router with a body template for the outline and the cavities.
