Return Policy

The Guitar Fabrik return policy is built to be fair, flexible and clear. We are confident in our products' quality and our service, but we know things can occasionally go wrong. If you have any enquiries with your order, you can always contact The Guitar Fabrik or email us at info@theguitarfabrik.com.

Change of Mind

If you change your mind after placing your order and your order has been fulfilled, return postage is at your own cost. You have 14 days to make your return after receiving your order. A refund will be issued once the product has been inspected by our technical team.

We expect returned products to be:

  • As new as when you received them — no work done, no marks, no chips on the corps, manche, or hardware parts.
  • If we find that the product has been used, worked, assembled, or modified, a full refund will not be granted. You will be contacted for further enquiries.

Suspect an Issue?

If you think you have received your order with some issues, please write to us with images and provide as much detail as possible. Once we receive your email, our team will get back to you with solutions.

1. No actual issue

If your concern was in fact not an issue and was just a misunderstanding, our technical team can guide you to overcome it.

Examples:

  • The guitar scale length is not correctly measured and you think there's an issue with the pre-drill of the chevalet.
  • The manche cannot be inserted easily into the neck pocket.

2. Mistakes during painting or assembly

We will assist you as much as possible to solve the issue.

3. Defects or missing parts

Once the issue has been identified and confirmed (through pictures, etc.) we will dispatch replacement parts for free from our UK warehouse. If we determine the parts need to be returned to us, we will provide a free return label.

4. Wood quality

Wood quality concerns are handled on a case-by-case basis. The guidelines below apply only if the wood has been untouched — no paint, no finish, no modifications. You may not be eligible for a refund if the product has already been modified.

  • Defect or wood damaged during delivery — please let us know as soon as possible. If the issue can be easily fixed, we will assist you. If the issue is unfixable, a free return is on us and we will provide a full refund.
  • Minor cosmetic imperfections (tiny dents or spot glue stain on maple/flame veneer, open pores on jatoba fretboard, sillet unglued, small crack on fretboard due to humidity) — these are considered natural and common, and can be easily fixed. We will be happy to assist you but will not cover full return & refund for these. Return postage is at your cost, and the refund amount will be confirmed once we receive and inspect your order.

5. Started working but wish to return

If you have started working on your guitar kit but do not wish to carry on, we hold the right to refuse a full refund and request you to keep the parcel. A partial refund is possible if the product is eligible for offering to other customers in our Non-Standard category.

The above issues are a guidance for your information. In any other particular case, we will treat your request on a case-by-case basis in a fair manner. Please rest assured, we will assist you as much as we can.

Upon Delivery Date

  • When receiving the parcel, please make sure that you sign the Delivery Note / Proof of Delivery.
  • Something doesn't look right? If you are not happy with the parcel because it is damaged, please refuse to receive the parcel and make a note of your refusal on the Delivery Note. Also, take a photo and contact us at info@theguitarfabrik.com so we have evidence to support a claim with our courier. Please note that claims take 7–10 working days to process.

For Guitar Fabrik returns, the correct return address depends on where you are based:

UK-based Customers

Under our return policy UK customers send to a return address in the United Kingdom.

EU Customers

Return address is in France.

Rest of the World

UK non-mainland, US, Canada, South America, Australia, and other non-EU countries (Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, etc.): return postage is at your own cost. Postage charges paid at the time of order are not refunded. Return address is in France.
