This clear nitrocellulose sealer spray seals the pores and acts as the first coat in guitar kit finishing (unless you are using grain filler). A high-transparency nitro sealer spray for guitar bodies and necks, it is ideal for natural finishing where you want the wood to show through. In stock in the UK with fast UK delivery.
Usage
Use this clear sanding sealer for guitar before applying colour lacquer such as amber or butterscotch.
With dye/tint: stain first and then seal. With dye, a waterbase sealer is preferred over a nitro one.
Seal the wood before your top coat such as clear varnish lacquer or shellac. As part of a full nitrocellulose guitar finish, it preserves the natural colour and mesh of the wood and revitalises the grain.
Preparation & Application
- Apply thin layers to avoid drips and achieve homogeneous coverage.
- Wait 8–12 hours between coats.
- Lightly sand between coats to promote adhesion.
- Nitro products are toxic; use appropriate protection (goggles, mask, gloves) during application.
