This Solid Classic Gibson Gloss Yellow finish is a pale “custard” yellow lacquer paint commonly used on the Les Paul Junior, and it suits any of our kit guitars beautifully. A dependable yellow guitar paint for a vintage solid-colour look, in stock in the UK with fast UK delivery.

Compatibility

Compatible with our nitrocellulose guitar finish range, including nitrocellulose primer and varnish, as well as our grain filler and polish pastes.

Preparation and Application

  • Shake the can vigorously for 2–5 minutes before use.
  • Apply thin layers to avoid drips and ensure homogeneous coverage.
  • Work in a low-humidity environment.
  • Spray with a uniform movement at approximately 20 cm distance.
  • Wait 12–24 hours between coats.
  • Optionally sand slightly between coats.
  • Apply a primer and sand to 400 grit before spraying.

Safety

Nitrocellulose is toxic and requires protection during finishing; use goggles, mask, and gloves. Apply outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
