Butterscotch nitrocellulose lacquer spray in a translucid classic Fender butterscotch tone, made for electric guitar finishing after a primer/sealer coat. This butterscotch guitar paint adds vintage colour and a durable protective layer, delivering that iconic butterscotch blonde guitar finish loved by Telecaster fans across the UK. In stock and dispatched from our UK warehouse with fast UK delivery.

Usage

Applied after the primer/sealer coat to add colour and an extra protective layer to the guitar body for a hard-wearing finish. As a semi-pigment colour, it reveals the wood grain depending on the number of layers, making it ideal for an authentic Telecaster butterscotch nitro look. Explore the full nitrocellulose guitar finish range for compatible coats.

Compatibility

Compatible with nitrocellulose primer, nitrocellulose varnish, grain filler, and polish pastes.

Preparation & Application

  • Shake vigorously between 2 to 5 minutes before use.
  • Apply thin layers to avoid drips and achieve a homogeneous distribution.
  • Spray in a low-humidity environment with a uniform movement at approximately 20 cm distance.
  • Wait 12 to 24 hours between coats.
  • Optionally sand slightly between coats.
  • Apply a primer and sand to 400 grit before spraying.

Safety

Nitrocellulose is toxic and requires protection whilst finishing: goggles, mask, and gloves. Apply outside or in a well-ventilated area.

Background on the Butterscotch Finish

The translucid classic Fender butterscotch finish was originally introduced in 1952 and is closely linked to the Telecaster. As a semi-pigment butterscotch guitar paint, varying the number of layers influences how much of the wood grain shows through, letting you dial in anything from a subtle butterscotch blonde guitar finish to a deeper, more saturated Telecaster butterscotch nitro tone. Available in the UK with fast delivery from our UK warehouse.
