Translucent black nitrocellulose lacquer in a 400 ml aerosol for guitar finishing, in stock in the UK. This nitrocellulose lacquer black gives a smoky, see-through colour that lets the wood grain show through for a refined transparent black guitar finish.

Usage in the Finishing Process

Apply this translucent black guitar lacquer after the primer/sealer. It provides the guitar’s colour and adds a protective layer for a durable finish.

Application

Compatibility

This black guitar paint is compatible with our nitrocellulose lacquers, nitrocellulose varnish, grain filler, and guitar polishing products. See the full nitrocellulose guitar finish range for matching base and topcoats, dispatched from our UK warehouse.

Preparation and Application

  • Shake vigorously for 2–5 minutes before use.
  • Spray thin coats to avoid drips; apply in low humidity.
  • Maintain a spraying distance of approximately 20 cm with a uniform movement.
  • Wait 12–24 hours between coats; optionally sand lightly between coats.
  • Apply a primer and sand to 400 grit before colour coats.
  • Use proper protection; apply outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.

Getting a uniform translucent black finish

For an even transparent black guitar finish, make sure the body is evenly sanded and pore-filled as needed before the colour coats. Build the black nitrocellulose lacquer in thin, consistent passes and test pass thickness on scrap to confirm the transparency level before committing to the instrument. Available with fast UK delivery from our UK warehouse.
