Usage

This metallic guitar paint is used after the primer/sealer coat. It provides the gold colour design and an additional protective layer for a hard-wearing guitar finishing result.

Application

Compatibility

Compatible with our nitrocellulose lacquers, nitrocellulose varnish, grain filler, and guitar polishing.

Preparation

  • Shake vigorously for 2–5 minutes before use.
  • Apply thin coats in a low-humidity environment at approximately 20 cm distance with uniform movement.
  • Wait 12–24 hours between coats; light sanding between coats is recommended.
  • Apply a primer and sand to 400 grit before spraying the gold nitro.

Safety

Nitrocellulose is toxic; use appropriate protection (goggles, mask, gloves) and apply outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.

General coat planning

  • Manche (natural): finish only.

  • Ukulele: one to two finish coats.

Apply the gold nitro in thin, even passes at about 20 cm, allow 12–24 hours between coats, and lightly sand between coats for best results.
