This Dean Razorback DIY kit in mahogany is well suited to beginner builders. Its mahogany body is mildly porous—smoother than ash—needing only minimal grain filler for a clean finish, whilst the maple neck needs none. The sharp, detailed body shape may demand extra care when painting to avoid orange peel.
Assembly is straightforward thanks to a bolt-on neck with no inclination. The tremolo bridge requires accurate placement and setup. The solderless wiring system simplifies electronics, and the tremolo allows adjustments for intonation and string height. The flat neck joint helps achieve a comfortable action. This prepped guitar kit ready to finish sits alongside our wider range of electric guitar kits in the UK, and if you would prefer a ready-coloured option, see our painted guitar body selection.
