Alcohol-based Green Lime dye for wood finishing in EU-only 230 mL size.

Usage

Use after applying grain filler (if used). Can be applied before or after the sealer coat; before sealer gives better control of stain intensity. Apply several thin layers to adjust grain tint. Do not use with non‑transparent products such as solid colour lacquer or white primer.

Compatibility

Compatible with nitrocellulose, polyurethane, and waterbased finishing solutions, as well as natural grain filler. Use only with transparent finishes: clear sealer, transparent colour lacquer, and clear varnish.

Preparation & Application

Alcohol-based dye; dilute in a solvent such as water or white spirit for direct application on wood. If used with waterbased products, prefer dilution with white spirit for better mixing. Typical dilution is 3% to 10% with water depending on application. Apply with a tack cloth. For veneered bodies, apply light coats and allow drying between coats to avoid lifting the veneer.

Grain Highlighting Tip

Apply a black dye as a base, sand back, then apply Green Lime (or another colour). The black remains in pronounced streaks while the colour coats the rest, enhancing 3D effects on quilted, flamed, spalted, or ash burl veneers. Dyes can be combined with transparent colour lacquer; for example, mix black dye with clear sealer (or apply black before sealer), then finish with a transparent colour lacquer.

Finishing sequence example

Grain filler (optional) → Dye coats (thin, building intensity) → Clear sealer → Transparent colour lacquer (optional) → Clear varnish.
