Guitar Build Levels and Challenges
The Dean Razorback Electric Guitar Kit is perfect for beginner builders, offering both ease and an opportunity to learn. Its mahogany body is only mildly porous—smoother than ash—requiring minimal grain filler for a clean finish, while the maple neck needs none. The sharp, detailed body shape may demand a bit more care when painting to avoid orange peel, but remains very manageable. Assembly is straightforward thanks to a bolt-on neck with no inclination, simplifying alignment. The tremolo bridge does add a few extra steps, such as accurate placement and setup, but clear instructions make the process approachable and educational. Our solderless wiring system ensures a hassle-free electronics setup, and the tremolo allows fine adjustments for both intonation and string height. Combined with the flat neck joint, it makes achieving a comfortable action easy from the start.
