This acoustic guitar kit allows you to craft your own high-quality folk guitar, featuring a spruce top and sapele back and sides. The kit includes all components needed for assembly and is designed for right-handed builders.
Guitar Build Levels and Challenges
The Acoustic Folk Guitar DIY Kit is our most intricate and challenging option, designed specifically for advanced builders. Intermediate skills are required for painting, as the body wood is highly porous and needs several layers of grain filler, along with careful masking of the binding. Depending on the wood used for the neck, you may need to apply a sealer. This DIY acoustic folk guitar kit includes a set-in neck with a fixed angle, so precise alignment is essential before gluing—once the neck is set, it can't be adjusted. The kit features a non-adjustable acoustic bridge, meaning the string action and neck angle must be accurate from the start. A resonator cone is included, along with a solderless wiring system for simple electronics setup. Though you won’t be able to make extensive adjustments after assembly, minor fine-tuning can be done by tilting the bridge or adjusting the internal spider screw. This kit is perfect for those who enjoy the art of precise craftsmanship and want to build a personalized, high-quality folk acoustic guitar.
