Our new varnish product from Nitorlack: 1L can of Nitrocellulose Varnish Lacquer GOLDEN AGE is used as the last top coat of finish on your DiY guitar kit. This new nitrocellulose is a recreation of the nitrocellulose used by Fender and Gibson guitars throughout the 60s. It modifies the formulation by eliminating plasticizers to increase its rigidity and obtain a varnish that will easily give a more natural and vintage look..
The main advantage compared to the different nitrocellulose varnishes is the speed of evaporation and melting between coats, allowing a more noticeable gloss effect and a greater vibration of the wood.

USAGE OF NITROCELLULOSE VARNISH LACQUER DURING THE FINISHING PROCESS OF YOUR GUITAR KIT
The varnish lacquer spray for gloss results adn a greater vibration of the wood is used as the last coats of protection, top coat, you need to apply when applying finishing layers to your guitar kit in order to have your electric guitar to last over time. This is the most important finishing step, and if you want to use only 1 product for your finishing then the top coats will be the one.

Our selected nitrocellulose varnish lacquer is compatible with all the nitrocellulose guitar kit finishing products as well as our grain filler and polish pastes.
NITROCELLULOSE VARNISH LACQUER PREPARATION AND APPLICATION.
-Before starting the process, the surface must be properly prepared. For this purpose, the pore must have been closed beforehand.
-We start by varnishing the sides first and then continue with the front and back faces.
– Movements should be linear, first horizontal and then vertical, and the surface should not be overloaded.
-The distance at which the product should be applied is about 25 cm.
-To achieve the best results, the temperature at the application site should be between 15 y 25 degrees.

How many spray cans do I need to varnish my guitar?
This will depend on the thickness of the coats and the skill using the spray. If it is your first project I recommend using 2 spray cans for an optimal finish. If you are more experienced one may be enough.
Where should I carry out the process?
A clean site will be essential to prevent dirt or dust particles from adhering to the surface.
Is sanding between coats mandatory?
You should not always do this, but it is advisable to remove any bumps left in the paint and any particles that may have adhered after each coat.
Can this paint crack due to temperature fluctuations?
Being a nitro with less elasticity and faster aging, as time goes by some fine breaks will begin to appear, although they will be much less pronounced than those of the nitro relic.
Can I easily achieve a cracked effect with this varnish?
If you put the guitar in the cold and cover the surface with our water-based dye, the lines will be easily marked, even though they are fine. This is the process we have followed in the tutorial attached here.
